In the cards.

I have died entangled in your grasp
To dazed to see behind the mask,
Here there is no heaven for me
Only a glimpse of purgatory,
That middling ground between us all
Tied by temperance’s pious pall;
I cup your face with empty fingers
The ghosts of all that was still linger;
If I am to live lacking your embrace
Then leave me to this long night’s grace,
More fool me, to cry out your name
And know that I have lost this game.
